Frequently asked questions about home care in California
What services does A&M Home Care provide in California?
A&M Home Care Corp provides non-medical in-home care throughout Southern California, including personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting), companionship, homemaking and light housekeeping, meal preparation, medication reminders, respite care for family caregivers, and 24-hour and live-in care. Our caregivers help seniors and adults with disabilities stay safe and independent in their own homes.
What cities in California does A&M Home Care serve?
We serve 23 cities across San Bernardino County, Riverside County, and the eastern edge of Los Angeles County — including San Bernardino, Riverside, Redlands, Rialto, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, Ontario, Chino, Chino Hills, Upland, Colton, Yucaipa, Highland, Loma Linda, Corona, Moreno Valley, Perris, Norco, Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, Pomona, Claremont, and Diamond Bar. Our California office is based at ZIP 92408 in San Bernardino.
How much does home care cost in California?
Non-medical home care in Southern California typically ranges from $32 to $42 per hour depending on the level of care, hours per week, and location. Live-in and 24-hour care are quoted separately. We give every family a free, no-obligation in-home assessment and a clear written rate before care begins — no surprise fees, no long-term contracts.
How do you pay for home care in California?
Most of our California clients pay privately, through long-term care insurance, or through a family cost-share. We accept private pay, checks, ACH, and most long-term care insurance policies (we can bill your carrier directly in most cases). We do not currently accept Medi-Cal or IHSS. Call (909) 494-9209 and we'll walk you through your options.
Is A&M Home Care licensed in California?
Yes. A&M Home Care Corp is registered as a Home Care Organization (HCO) with the California Department of Social Services, Home Care Services Bureau. Every caregiver we send into a home is registered on the state's Home Care Aide Registry, background-checked through the California Department of Justice and FBI, TB-tested, and trained to state standards before their first shift.
How quickly can care start in California?
For most Inland Empire families we can complete a free in-home assessment within 24 to 48 hours and start care within 2 to 4 days of that visit. For urgent hospital discharges or crisis situations, same-day and next-day starts are often possible — call (909) 494-9209 and ask for our California care coordinator.
Are your California caregivers background-checked and insured?
Every A&M caregiver in California is fingerprinted and background-checked through the California DOJ and FBI, registered on the California Home Care Aide Registry, TB-cleared, and covered by our commercial general liability, professional liability, workers' compensation, and non-owned auto insurance. We are bonded and fully insured, and we never use gig-app or independent-contractor caregivers.
What's the difference between home care and home health care?
Home care (what we provide) is non-medical support with daily living — bathing, dressing, meals, companionship, transportation, housekeeping — delivered by trained caregivers. Home health care is medical care — nursing, wound care, physical therapy — delivered by licensed clinicians under a doctor's order. Many families use both. If you need home health, we're glad to refer you to a trusted California partner.
