How it works

Four steps to your completed 40-hour course

Arkansas requires a 40-hour aide course with classroom and clinical instruction, supervised by a registered nurse, before you provide personal care. A&M's course is approved by the Arkansas Department of Health and taught in person by an A&M registered nurse. The online modules at ARtraining.aandmhomecare.org get you ready for it.

Complete the eleven online modules

Reading lessons and real-life Arkansas scenarios, about 13.5 hours of study. Pass each quiz at 80% or higher to unlock the next module. This study time is extra; it doesn't count toward the 40 course hours.

Sign your attestation

Confirm you understand your mandated reporter duties, client rights, and A&M policies, then sign. Your online completion is saved to your A&M training record.

Complete the 40-hour course with an A&M nurse

Attend 24 classroom hours and 16 hands-on clinical hours, pass a knowledge check on every topic and a final exam at 80%, and show the nurse each care skill. Your nurse records every step, then your 40-hour certificate is issued.
