How it works

Four steps from sign-in to certificate

Everything happens inside your secure A&M portal at metraining.aandmhomecare.org. About 8 hours total, done on your schedule.

Sign in with the credentials A&M sent you

Your Maine coordinator sends your login by email once you're hired. Your progress saves automatically, so you can start on your phone and finish on a laptop.

Work through the modules

Short lessons on Maine-specific PSS standards. About 8 hours of content total — most caregivers finish it in one or two sittings.

Pass each module quiz (80%)

Each section ends with a quiz. Score 80% or higher to unlock the next module. Missed a question? Review the lesson and try again — no penalty.

Sign your attestation & get your certificate

After the final module, sign the completion attestation. Your signed A&M Maine PSS 8-Hour Orientation Completion is filed in your A&M record and you can download a copy for yourself.

Common questions

About the portal

Is this really free?
Yes. A&M covers the platform and the curriculum for our caregivers — there is no cost to you as an A&M employee for orientation or annual training.

How long does it take?
8 hours maximum, and it's self-paced. Most caregivers finish in one or two sittings.

Do I have to work for A&M to take it?
Yes. This portal is exclusively for A&M Maine caregivers — you'll need to be hired with A&M (or in the process of being hired) to receive login credentials. Not hired yet? Apply to join our Maine team →

I never got my login — what do I do?
Call our Brewer office at (207) 307-0922 or email referrals@aandmhomecare.org and we'll get you set up the same day.

What if I get stuck on a quiz?
Re-read the module and try again. You need 80% to move on, but you can retake as many times as you need.

I'm not sure my computer skills are up to it.
The portal works on any phone or laptop, and our Brewer office team can help you get logged in. Call (207) 307-0922 and we'll walk you through it.

I completed PSS training somewhere else — do I still have to do this?
Yes, for now — this is the A&M orientation that goes into your A&M employee record for MaineCare compliance. If you have a prior PSS certificate, bring it to your coordinator so we have it on file alongside your A&M completion.
