Paying for care

The #1 question families ask: "Can we afford this?"

Often, yes — and often with little or no out-of-pocket cost. Here’s how in-home care gets paid for, and how we help you find out what you qualify for.

🏛️

Medicaid programs

State Medicaid programs cover in-home personal care for eligible clients — and in many states, they're what funds our Family Caregiver Program. We work with MaineCare (Maine), New Hampshire Medicaid, Choices for Care (Vermont), and ARHOME (Arkansas). We don't currently accept Medicaid in California. Eligibility depends on income, assets, and care needs — we help families navigate the application.

🎖️

VA benefits

Veterans and some surviving spouses may qualify for programs that help pay for in-home care, such as Aid & Attendance. If your loved one served, always check — many families leave this benefit unclaimed.

📄

Long-term care insurance

If your loved one holds a long-term care policy, in-home care is usually covered. We help you understand the policy, gather documentation, and submit what the insurer needs.

💳

Private pay

For families paying directly, we offer flexible scheduling with a 4-hour minimum per shift — from a few shifts a week to around-the-clock care. Rates are quoted after your free in-home assessment, so you only pay for the care plan you actually need.
