Built to South Carolina's in-home care standards
Modules 2 through 9 each cover one of the eight topics South Carolina requires under S.C. Reg. 60-122 §404 for licensed In-Home Care Providers, plus South Carolina's mandatory reporting law and the SCDHHS training topics for Medicaid aides. Our Beaufort office is at 711 Bladen Street, Suite 310.
Four steps from invitation to certificate
Everything happens inside your secure A&M portal at SCtraining.aandmhomecare.org. South Carolina requires all eight training topics before your first client contact and again every year.
A&M sends a personal link when you're hired. Click it, set your own password, and you're in. Progress saves automatically, so you can start on your phone and finish on a laptop.
Reading lessons and real-life South Carolina scenarios. About 8.75 hours of content total — most caregivers finish it in two or three sittings.
Each module ends with a short quiz. Score 80% or higher to unlock the next one. Missed a question? Review the lesson and try again.
Sign the caregiver attestation, including South Carolina's required statements, and download your certificate. It shows when your annual training is due, and a copy is kept in your A&M training record.

About the training
Is this training free?
Yes. A&M covers the platform and the curriculum for our caregivers. There is no cost to you as an A&M employee.
How long does it take?
About 8.75 hours across nine modules. It's self-paced, and you can stop and pick up where you left off.
What does South Carolina require?
Under S.C. Reg. 60-122 §404, caregivers at a licensed In-Home Care Provider complete training in eight topics before client contact and at least every year: basic first aid; care for the client's condition, such as dementia; confidentiality; documentation and recordkeeping; ethics and interpersonal relationships; lifting and transfers; infection control; and preventing abuse, neglect, and exploitation. A&M also trains you on anything specific to each client's care plan.
What else do I need before I start?
South Carolina also requires a SLED criminal record check, a drug screen, Sex Offender Registry and Nurse Aide Registry checks, and a health self-assessment. Caregivers serving SC Medicaid (Community Choices) clients also complete an in-person skills check with an A&M nurse. Your A&M onboarding coordinator will walk you through each one.
Do I have to work for A&M to take it?
Yes. This training is only for A&M South Carolina caregivers, and you need an invitation from A&M to sign in. Not hired yet? Apply to join our team →
I never got my invitation. What do I do?
Call A&M at (207) 307-0922 or email Referrals@aandmhomecare.org and we'll get you set up.
What if I get stuck on a quiz?
Re-read the module and try again. You need 80% to move on. After three tries, your supervisor will reach out to help.
